National Employers Reference Group

The NERG represents a wide range of industries, locations and employers of all sizes to provide a diversity of views on youth unemployment.

The National Employers Reference Group (NERG) hosted its second annual meeting in May 2019. The NERG represents a wide range of industries, locations and employers of all sizes to provide a diversity of views on youth unemployment. The National Community of Practice fosters innovation and the NERG demonstrates the power of collective effort in addressing youth unemployment. The meeting provided the opportunity to bring together the expertise and contribution of industry and employers and combine this with the efforts of the community sector and government.

The National Community of Practice visually captured these Employer Champions on film to recognise, highlight and share on a national scale what is working well in local areas in creating pathways to employment for young people in a way which invests in young people’s skills, talents and aspirations. There were clear similarities and themes which emerged through conversations and a video capturing all employers was also produced.
